Partying is wholesome and at Pukkelpop you can indulge in your favourite activity every day until the wee hours of the morning. Old news? No, it’s not! Of course, festival-goers have been living it up for years in the Dance Hall and the Boiler Room, for instance, but this year the organisers are adding Underground, a brand-new after party concept for guitar enthusiasts.
Every evening when the day’s headliner in the Castello has left the stage, festival-goers in search of an alternative to the ubiquitous beats can rock out there until four in the morning.
NEW CONCEPT
Festival organiser Chokri Mahassine: “Underground specifically targets Pukkelpoppers who are into more alternative rock. From now on they get their own party base in the Castello tent. Letting your hair down to The Strokes, roaring along to Arctic Monkeys, pumping your fist to a Britpop anthem, cranking out a metal classic on your air guitar or pogoing to the Ramones? Sonic Youth, Parquet Courts, Weezer, Vampire Weekend, The Vaccines or David Bowie - nothing’s off limits.”
